Default The symptoms.............

Hey guys- truck is stock, save for a tune. Thing is, lately I've noticed when slowing down for a right hander at an intersection, going thru the turn then reapplying the gas it's like the tranny is hunting for a second, then it downshifts and everything is back to normal. I've only notived this recently, the truck has 91k on the clock, could it be time for a shift kit/ valve body. I don't race or pound on the truck per se.............
Thanks

Sounds like the trans is on it's way out. I doubt if a shift kit is going to help you.

Since this is happening in a turn before I condemed the trans I would check and top off the fluid levels .

Thanks, Perform. I checked the fluid and it was low. I'll keep ya posted. I was hopeing to get 150k outta the trans. BTW, might a shift kit/ valve body help any at this point in the life of the transmissin, I always thought this was about the time.........

You might consider the transgo SK kits , I wouldnt do the hd2 at this time in the trans life but the sk kit will let you firm shifts a little and address possible future lockup issues before they happen.
Of course theres allways something to be said for "if it anit broke dont fix it too"

That was my thinking too...as the body rolls, the fluid sloshes to one side.

Since the fluid was low I'd be checking for a leak somewhere, unless it just wasn't filled completely during the last service...

Well guys- it was the fluid level. not only runs smoother now but no more of that lost sensation with the trans. I think I can put off that shift kit for a few more miles, now..................
