I don't mean to sound concieted or something like that but I've driven hard core road cars and that is where I want to go with this. I can drive the truck like a corvette now, but its skill, not the machine. I want it to be both...

did you do the install with the truck on the ground or on a lift?

 

i put mine on while the truck was on the ground but had to adjust it later which i did on a lift. seemes a lot easier to manuver into position while the truck was in the air

 

GUYS...if u wanna drive it like u stole it u gotta change both sways...I did Eibach, but there are several good kits. It makes HUGE diff. Add a nice set of 305's and ull be taking 360* ramps at 65mph. If u only change the rr then ur gonna push across all the corners unless u drift...if I was only gonna change 1 end it wud be the front. GMHTP did up a silverado for autocross last yr (was for sale on here for a while too) and that was the 1st change they made. R/

 

i take ramps at 65-70 now with stock suspension and 275's...guess skill is the great equilizer.

 

maybe i will look into a front sway bar then. whats the best tire performance wise (size/brand) that will fit stock 16s?

 

the only one i ever take that fast turns sharper at the top than at the bottom and has some nasty bumps that claimed my buddy's 98 Z28 when he tried to take it at 65, so i think 60 for that ramp in a ecsb full size isnt that bad

 

i have Good Year GTII's on my 17" torque thrust wheels on my 01, handles decent now, no problems on the clover ramps at all, just want to be able to take it to the road course and not be all crazy and ****.

 

GTII tires are the worst tires known to man. I hated those tires with a passion.

 

i've never had a single problem with the GTII's, handle everything I throw at them. i haven't had them on a road course ofcourse yet but i will eventually. might get a set of "track" wheels and put some road race specific tires on them just for the ***** of it.
