Default Suggestions for a 2/3 drop (used search but not satisfied)...

Have 2 in rear shackles now but am thinking about going a little lower (want a bit more rake too). Truck's an 04 rcsb 2wd with 285-50R 20 tires.
-What's the ride like with this drop (or a 2/4)? Any brand of shock that is best for a smooth ride?
-Will the fronts rub? (they barely do now at stock height)
-How hard is the install?
-What's a good price for this drop? Recommended manufacturers?

spindles will get you 2" up front with liitle to no change in geometry. You will want to trim or replace the bump stops. I can't say about the rub with your tire but my 285's only rub when hard (100%) left and then only barely.
I did a write up recently on the belltech stops and their new shocks, the street performance, look in the GM drivetrain and suspension section for pics.

Hangars will get you another 2" in the rear, they are a PITA to install only because the stock hangars are rivited on.

I swear by Belltech suspension products for their quality and affordable pricing.

R U stayin w/ shackles or going to different leafs in back? Or for that matter, are u going differ. coils up front or spindles?
Need more details. Do u want it to handle like it's on rails? I'm sure you'll get a few bites on what shocks to use. Do u have a price in mind on the shocks?
Is this a DD? Do you drag race?

I guess handling and cost are my main concerns. If I can get another inch in back with the current shackles and still handle decent then that's what I'll do. By decent handling I mean not too darty, roads down here suck and I don't want to veer towards a ditch at every pothole This truck's my dd so I don't want to pound my kidneys out, which setup (coils or spindles would be best? I don't know what shock prices are at, but don't want to break the bank on this whole setup

OK, just tryin to get a feel. If I was buyin shocks, my 1st choice( even tho I've not tried em, based on readin) Edelbrock IAS. A set of 4/ ~$275-300. I can't honestly answer springs vs spindles. My guess: spindles.
I hear ya on the crappy roads, come to MI.

if you wanna stay cost effective, hangars are your cheapest option. While a pita, a 4" angle grinder and a punch/hammer will take them right out.

for the front you could do spindles (not a fan of spindle drops), LCA's, Springs.

I like my calmaxx shocks by DJM...the ride isn't spungy, but it's not rock solid either. I'm the opposite of trever, i'm a huge Fanboy of DJM and will continue to use them until their customer service starts to become a hassle.
