Default Stupid Shackle Question Here

I got some new lowering 6400 Belltech shackles sitting in my garage that I planned on installing some time ago, now I’m thinking of doing a flip kit instead for the rear... looking for a 5” drop instead of the whole 6” a flip kit gets you.. can I use these drop shackles as a 1” lift shackle?? They have 5 holes for adjusting the height... Or would I be better off getting a regular 1” lift shackle?? Thanks! Btw truck is an 05 ext cab

You need a 1in lift shackle. If you try and use the shackle you have you'll drop it even more.

I would recommend a c-notch. It's really not that hard if you have a sawzall and a cutoff wheel with spare discs.

I’m just about 5” rear drop on my truck. I did front hangers/rear shackles and pulled the overload which is .750” thick

And a c-notch is a must

Notch Is also in the plans... I know the shackle will drop it more IF I use the top 2 holes (Belltech shackles have 5 holes for adjustablilty).. but I’m wondering if I can use the bottom 2 holes to lift it 1in... don’t wanna really use hangers cuz they’re a pita and if I decide to go back to stock or lower I can just adjust/remove the flip kit

You won’t be able to ever use the first 3 holes as they are tapered inward. The leaf spring eyelet would never fit, so you are limited to the top 2 holes. You could make the third hole work if you cut a relief into the top bracket on one side of the shackle and stretched it over the spring eye........... but I wouldn’t do that as you will loose strength in the shackle

I think I would just be better buying a set of lift shackles and selling the belltechs... a guy locally is selling some adjustable ones for $25... stock position and 1” lift... but they’re for an 01 f150... any advise if they’ll fit?? They’re for 2.5 leafs

Get the ones designed as a 1in lift shackle for these trucks, don't make it harder on yourself.
