Default OK to drive 4L80 swap UNTUNED to the tuner?

My trans guy just finished the swap. Will i do damage if i drive it 15 miles to the tuner? just trying to save that tow bill. Seems like its stuck in either 2nd or 3rd gear?

Any info will help. THANKS

I wouldnt. You risk spending thousands to save $100. Just tow it, and stop driving it right now.

Don’t. The shift logic works different between the two.

Truth.

I loaded my tune before it was towed to the trans shop. He pulled the trans, did his thing, put it back and he said he was surprised that it worked right. LOL.

Won't the 4l80 just limp mode in 2nd? That shouldn't be a problem for 15 miles if not going too fast.

I swapped my tbss 70e to a 80e. I used the relay wiring harness mod. Still needed tuning but i drove it for 6 months without tuning. Just had max line pressure and firm shifts. Actually drove pretty good, but this would be diff from a needed segment swap.

Yeah, I drove my 80e swap for 15 miles or so in limp mode. No issues other than heat if I got the RPMs too high.
