about a year ago i bought a 2001 gmc sierra single cab. lately i have thinking about putting in 3.73 gears but im not sure wat i have in there now. is there any way i could find out?

there is a sticker in your glove box go find the number that is like a gt4 or gu6 or something of that nature and that tells you what your gears are

there is a post in here somewhere that tells what they mean ill see if i can findit

 

also note if you have code G80 or not... awe hell, just bring all codes that start with a "G"

 

Gu5 - 3.23
Gt4 - 3.73
Gu6 - 3.42
Gt5 - 4.10
g80 - stock limited slip
found them

 

ok got it. i check all the numbers and it turns out i already have 3.73. so thats good. thanks for the help. very fast.
