Default Spring or Air bag suspension?

I'm looking for everyones advise on this. I'm wanting to customize a 1950 chevy pickup to be an everyday driver and was wondering what would be more comfortable ride, spring or air bag suspension? I want it to be low to the ground but still able to tow if need be.

u can't go wrong with airbag suspension for smoothness. not sure how it'd hold up to towing.

once me and my fiance have a house instead of our appartment i will also have a early 50's chevy pickup that will be airbagged...but it will have a boosted big block etc...won't be towing anything haha

Bags are the best thing I've ever done to my truck, it's a smooth ride and performs well in the twisties. As far as towing goes air bags will outperform springs any day of the week, they have a high tow rating(depending on the bag you choose) and you can level your load at the touch of a switch. As far as low to the ground my truck sits on the frame when aired out, doesn't get much lower than that.

Thanks, I'm going with air ride suspension but I have another problem. I started a new thread about the air suspension under the title 1950 body on what chassis? in GM General Discussion
