Default Spindle removal

Ok, this is my second attempt at installing my 1" Eibach springs. I broke my pickle fork in the first attempt. Anyone know a good way or any tips on seperating the spindle from the lower control arm? I'm just jacking my truck up right now so any help would be great

I just wacked the **** out of the area at the ball joint and it pops right out, just so you know you should only have to hit it about 2-3 times and it should pop

i used a manual balljoint fork from napa and a 4lb mini sledge

she finally popped after about 30 good whacks but destroyed the rubber boot in the process, be prepared to replace those

Support the truck by the frame and only back off the castle nut a few turns. Whack the spindle casting on the side where the balljoint threads through with a small sledge as has been suggested. The force from the torsion bar will help pull it apart once it breaks free, the castle nut still on it will prevent your arm from being removed from your body.

OKAY James you sound like a certified mechanic. That was very well put. But there is no easy way to get the ball joint to pop

Or you can compress the spring and remove the 2 bolts from the LCA that attaches it to the frame.
