Default Specific 4L80E swap questions (ECSB 4X4)

Alright so it is time for me to get rid of the slushbox 60e and install the 80E this weekend. I have read over KySilverado's install thread a couple of times and still need a few things answered.

Driveshaft questions:
1. How much longer/shorter do you need to make the driveshafts. I understand that KySilverado was running a stock junkyard front out of something, does anyone know what I can pull one out of?

2. The ride height of my truck is still stock so I am assuming that I can shorten the rear driveshaft the difference in length between the 60e and 80e, does anyone know how much has to come off?

Transfer Case questions:
Where to buy the 32 spline input shaft.

I think that is it for now, I am sure a couple more will come up as I get deeper but that is all I can come up with.

Thanks for advance!!

Also, before the trans gave up I did get the truck dynoed and it made 394whp/464torque on a rather stingy mustang dyno on 8psi and 12* of timing (tune was very conservative). I can't wait to get in the new trans and turn up the wick

i did the swap.. but 2wd... this is probably pretty good for 4wds.. http://www.neufamily.org/4l80e/4l80swap.html

by the way... i love the 80e.... no complaints here... i love the 1-2 transition.. it shifts into second and the rpms never fall below 5k... i know it has to do with the stall but the ratios are so much closer in the 80-e and 1st gears longer so it helps with traction on street...

Found the t-case input shaft at http://tbtrans.com/ for $100. Just need to find out about driveshaft lengths so I can get them cut.

I think a 2500hd front shaft might work. You may or may not need the 2500hd transfer case adapter for this to work. I put a 4l80 in mine with a silverado ss transfer case. I used the 4l80 transfer case adapter "part number 15724745" and my original rcsb front shaft. I had to elongate the holes on the shifter cable bracket but that was it.

1 11/16" off the rear shaft, and I had to tell the junk yard a front shaft for a 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 5 Speed trans when they looked it up in there computer to get the right shaft for mine.

When you say five speed are you referring to the Allison or a manual?

Thanks for the input everyone!
I am waiting on my t-case input shaft (hopefully here before the weekend) and then its go time. Can't wait to get a real trans into this thing!!

Well, The computer at the junk yard only listed it as 5-speed. Didn't say Allison or manual. All I know is 4 speed for 1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton was too short. 5-speed was right on the money.

Install is done and truck is running great!! Front driveshaft out of a 8.1 Allison 5 speed bolts right up and fits perfect.

The new trans is amazing, still have some tuning to do but it is getting there. I am in need of a limited slip/locker ASAP. Any recommendations and where should I buy from?

Thanks for the help everyone!!
