Stainless braided hoses made my pedal stiffer...if you're running big wheels (20's), then the pedal will feel like crap no matter what you do unless you do a big brake upgrade.

A brake fluid flush makes a noticeable difference if the fluid is old.

My 95s brakes really sucked after I put a LT4 hot cam in it and then proceeded to put rear discs on it with a NBS HD master cylinder. It was extremely high, very little assist, and spongy. I threw the vacuum booster in the trash and put hydroboost on it and changed out the pedal to the hydroboost pedal and the difference is night and day. The pedal is as rock solid as you can get for rubber hoses and the brakes just work beautifully. In a panic stop it will lock all four wheels up without hesitation. Never, even with the stock little 235 75 15s would it have done that.

My 99 has the same crap soft brake pedal feel you are talking about. I've got another hydrobooster I'm going to throw on it and see what happens.
