ive had 1.6x 60fts on both drag radials and full slicks.

Id say go slick for a lighter setup.

I am thinking of running a Hoosier 28x16x10.5 slick on a stock rim. is there enough backspace to tuck the tire good? I have a 3/5 drop and am concerned about rubbing..how much do these slicks grow in height if any?

you'll be fine with that setup.

i got the worn out shocks installed in the rear.
i adjusted the caltracs with no preload (resting on top the leafspring), et streets @ 22psi, and took the truck out for a spin. it hooks up real good, but i have to get it rolling at 3-5 mph before nailing the throttle (converter flashes hard). i'm thinking if its hooking up good like this on the street, then i shouldn't have any problems at a sticky track. my 90/10 shocks should be here tomorrow also.
