Default Sierra denali drop question

Wanting to drop my 08 sierra denali. I have heard that on awd/4wd that some of the threads with have to be cut off the ball joint. Was wondering how true this is and at what point do I have to do this. I was wanting 3/5 but I'm also fine with 2/4 if I don't have to cut

If you do not touch the spindles and just do coil relocators/drop struts up front, you will not have to cut anything.

I believe the drop spindles will make that 1/4 to 1/2 of the unused ball joint stud/thread would have to be cut off so it clears the cv axles. It's not a big deal to cut it off, it doesnt hurt anything.

Well that's less than I was thinking I would have to cut. Hopefully there won't be any CV problems at 3 in
