Do I have to worry about shimming a stock converter?

Never seen one shimmed from the factory...it wouldnt hurt to measure though

I used a 1/8 inch drill bit to measure my spacing.

Yeah, from torque converter bolt holes to flexplate. A little more or little less is OK from what I've read. I am not a pro though.

I think you do it to remember whether you did something or not especially as long as you took between times you worked on it
