So, I'm replacing the trans and 3200 stall, and I have a case of the "while I'm in there might as well" So I also have a 4.10 axle and big brakes all around. When I install the axle I'm going to flip kit it. my intention is to get a real 2" front and 5" (maybe even 6") rear drop since it has so much rake.
Question is, with as light as these step sides sit in the rear, do I need to notch? Also, instead of shock extenders I would rather do new shock mounts and weld them on to the axle when it's out. Anyone have a source on new shock mounts?

BTW - I'm aware that normally a flip requires a notch, but this thing seems like it has a ton of room back there. Not sure what's included in the towing package but this truck has a factory trans cooler, which tells me it probably has some kind of towing package on it.

How much rake does it have? Measure from the center of hub to fender lip front and rear man, most 2wd trucks sit 19.5 front 21.5 rear from factory but not sure about the rcsb's. You'll probably need 2-3" more drop on the rear to make it sit level, if you want it level?
If you're only going 2" in the front I'd only use coils springs, because with spindles you'll lose turning radius. If you're going any more than 2" I'd do spindles and springs, for the rear a flip kit and stock shackles will get you 6", if you need to bring it up to 5" you could use a lift hanger. A notch will be needed regardless, a rcsb won't bottom out as much as a ecsb/ccsb but it'll be a rough ride without it. Helper bags would be a good investment also, I'd recommend all McGaughy's drop parts. The notch is bolt in and if you go with helpers they bolt on to the axle and notch too making it a easy install. Belltech Street Performance shocks are top of the line also imo
I've lowered probably 10+ nbs trucks man, if you have any questions feel free to PM me!
