I just got the Stage 3, 3000 stall, and upgraded to the carbon fiber lock up clutch. Installed it on Friday and had Justin from Blackbear adjust the tune. So far it's great. Truck launches hard.

I just gt off the phone with revmax. I was interested in them because I'm broke right now and I need to get a cheap stall. I asked about their stage 3 4l80e ($335 w/shipping) verter that they have listed on Ebay. THey said that particular one would burn up with the amount of power/weight I have so they suggested I go with their level 5 Converter. I was intending to buy a cheapo verter till it burns out till I could afford a Circle D or a Yank but guess what? The guy says the Stage 5 is the same manufacturer of the Yank and that they are virtually identical.
Revmax stage 5=$725+$35 shipping
Yank =$900 to 925+shipping

Hmm, if the guy isn't Yanking my chain I think that's a pretty damn good deal. Plus they come with a 2 year warranty.

The same manufacturer as Yank?? Dave builds his converters in-house, tailored to the needs of his customers.

You do realize that whoever you are talking to is trying to "sell" you on their product. Hopefully you aren't as gullible when you're shopping for a used car.

Usually, if a salesperson is comparing their product to someone else's, that means that the other one is the benchmark that they are trying to copy. Occasionally, the two products may be very similar, but that is pretty rare.

IT's not a yank, like mentioned above. Dave is the one and only in his shop that builds converters. I have seen the revmaxx on ebay. Search on LS1tech, there was a pretty good pissing match in there....lol
