Default rearend swap for friend

I've got a friend who's not a member here but is needing some information. He has a 1982 Chevy truck rcsb 350. Just completely blew his rearend and is looking to replace it completely. I have no knowledge of these trucks myself, but he was wondering what rearends would be compatible with this truck. Not looking to spend a ton of money but he needs to get it running.

Off hand I would say 73-87 pickups and suburbans, maybe a van. There are a couple of versions a 10 bolt and a 12 bolt. The difference would probably be the u-joint size and maybe the size of the rear brake drums. You have to use truck parts in the rear end if he chooses to replace broken parts as the cars have smaller axles with less splines. Later

Yeah, just to get him by he got an open rear from a suburban with 2.73's. lol. But he hates this and wants to get back into a locker with at least 3.73's. I had no knowledge of these earlier model rears so I figured someone on here might.
