Default rear end ratios? and trans problem?

i am looking at buying a 2000 gmc 1500 and i was wondering wat gear ratios this truck comes with.
also this truck seems to drive perfect until you get on it in first gear then it seems to not want to rev up and pull as good as second gear does. then it shifts pretty hard, what could cause this? second and third at wot feels good

If its 2wd it probably has 3.42 gears. If its 4wd it probably has 3.73 gears.

For the gears look at the RPO sheet in the glove box.

GU6 = 3.42
GT4 = 3.73
GT5 = 4.10

Doesn't sound like a trans problem. Might be fuel,plugged cats,bad plugs or wires, etc.
