Default Rear end/driveshaft feels like it jumps and pops when letting off the brakes

I have a 2006 ccsb 2wd with 195k thats making a thumping noise when i release the brake from a stop. It doesnt do it under accelleration or decelleration but only when a complete stop and go happens. If i hold the throttle a little when i stop and go it doesnt do it. If i hit a series of bumps while driving i sounds like the driveshaft is thumping and jumping around.. I will also pop when i rock the truck left to right with the steering wheel. The trans mount is new, the ujoints dont seem to have any play and ive tightened up all of the leaf spring bolts and the 2" drop shackle bolts... Has anyone had a similar experience ? It almost feels like the rear axle is shifting from front to back

Clean & lube your slip yoke splines. Should take care of it, at least for a while.

Ok so the driveshaft has a 1/4 play at the trans up and down and about the same when you twist it by hand

Yes there is a GM TSB out on this issue. GM has a special lube for it as well as a nickel plated slip yoke.

When I had my 04 rcsb 2wd I too had that problem. I changed u joints, and played with pinion angle a lil. What fixed it was lubing the spline on the drive shaft that goes in the back of the tranny with a lube called " special lube or grease" from the Chevy house. Buddy gave me some. I was sceptical, but it def fixed the problem for the next 9k miles until I sold it. If my memory serves me right it was a grey/silver grease that resembled nickle antisieze
