Default rear end decision stock vs.14 bolt

I have been going back and forth on what to do with me rear end. I am hoping to make around 500 to the ground with my setup. My truck has a 4l80e, and a 3200 PB converter. I will also end up putting in Caltracs. This truck is a daily driver that will be taken to the track maybe 12 times a year. I will never run slicks on it. I don't want to change the length of the shaft (it has 1350 joints). I need to keep the same bolt pattern as I don't want any different wheels. I don't want to touch this truck for a while when it is done, I just want to turn the key and go.
The truck has the stock rear in it and I am planning on putting in a trutrac and gears (more than likely 3.73). Will this be fine for me for years or will I end up breaking something?
If I go with a 14 bolt, what should I get it from? Does something offer disc brakes, and my bolt pattern? What will I need to do to it to end up with a strong posi unit that will last for years?

Stock with good carrier and girdle will hold it.

I'd think your stock rearend with a good set of gears and carrier would be fine. You could upgrade your axles to be on the safe side if you wanted to.

im with these guys i would build the one you have... especially since your in a RCSB.. you should be fine... I would do an EATON LSD and a good high quality gear.. maybe throw a T/A cover on it

That is actually what I wanted to hear, I didn't really want to spawn gears. So the Eaton LSD over the Trutrac?

i like a posi that always has the clutches engaged.. i dont want one to slip before the other kicks in.... for drag racing i would think a LSD would be superior to the trutrac... tru trac should last longer though....

this is just my opinion... others may feel different
