You don't need to swap the entire housing on the pre 07+ trucks, I know that I've seen where guys have done it. You'll need new backing plates, hardware, brake lines, etc...I hate drum brakes also, but from what I've heard the newer drums stop better than the older discs. If you search this section, there is a rear disc upgrade for the trucks that originally came with discs...I believe that the SUV rear discs are larger...

walledition and other 05+ trucks also got larger front rotors )where most of your stopping is coming from anyways)... just sayn

Appreciate the information guys, found an 02 Tahoe to get everything off of this past weekend. Now I just gotta find the free time to do it.
