Default Rear diff re-gearing question.

my truck came factory with 4.10's, i do a lot of highway driving and minimal towing(21 ft boat gets trailered about three miles on weekends to the river and back), i have been researching switching to a set of 3.42 rear gears to drop RPM down on the highway, does anyone know if i need a "thick" 3.42 gear set or can i go with a standard thickness? i know that on my F350 i needed to go with thick 4.10 gears on the dana 80 rear when i went from 3.55 to 4.10 ratio.
