Default Rear Diff Cover

Hey guys,

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT and am going to be changing the rear diff fluid soon. I just received the amsoil and am looking to change the fluid as soon as I get a chance. However, I started thinking about the fact that I have to pull the diff cover because there is no drain plug. I dont want to spend the cash on the expensive aftermarket ones, but I thought I read before that the factory made some covers with drain plugs. Anyone know where to find them? Is it really worth it or should I just leave it as is?

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Diff fluid needs to be changed to infrequently that I wouldnt spend the money if you arent planning to upgrade to a girdle or something similar.

You can get a small hand pump from the parts store and pump the old out and pour the new in. the pumps take a little time but work good. i think the pump was $8. I use one on my wife's jeep liberty's diff. .

Pop the cover... drain.. clean... bead of rtv and pop it back on... refill.

No point in spending the coin on another cover.

Yea i got a Jegs girdle cover and it doesnt have a drain low enough.. it does have a 1/8" NPT threaded port at the bottom, but not close enough to even get most the oil out. Made for a sensor.
