Hoe it looks like you have most of the supplies for the swap. I think maybe you should pressure wash the bottom side of your truck before installing your new and very pretty clean unit. It looked kinda dirty in the photos you posted. Post some pic's of your new unit for others to see. Good luck with swap and I hope you got german beer. My units like green bottles!
Well, the beer is for after the install. I am going to do a few doughnuts and 100mph burnout to break in the trans J/K
The underside of the truck is dirty because the county wont pave my road! Its scheduled for this spring. So I'm not washing it
I will get some pics. I'm sure I'll run into some problem. I cant imagine a tranny swap without drama, couldnt happen.

I let mine sit for a week and collect dust, so it'd match the truck. I didn't think of doing it the other way around.

It shifts perfect! It still shifts quick at light throttle, just not a rough jolt. WOT barks second pretty good.

Yup. I get very funny looks from a 20 punch. I've had a bunch of people pull up to me at the next light, and ask "what the hell is that thing?"

Do you have a tranny temp gauge?

I do. But, I dont really trust how accurate it is. My rpms are off by 300, the speedo is off by 3 mph and the coolant temp gauge is off once in awhile as well. I will have to check and see if EFI Live can read the transmission temp. Right now I see 200* most of the time. When in traffic or at idle for a long time the coolant temp and tranny temp start to rise. I dont know which one is affecting the other...yet. Either the tranny is heating up and causing the radiator to get hotter thus warming the engine up or the reverse.

My only issue so far with swapping the trans is the new true dual exhaust. There is not Y pipe to remove to drop the tranny. I will have to unbolt the collectors from the LT’s and then CUT the driver side pipe after the tranny to remove that section of pipe because it runs under the tranny pan. X marks the spot. Is there any way to not cut the pipe? Can I get a clamp to put it back on or am I going to have to become a welder that day?

Who did the exhaust? They don't know how to add pipe obviously. At the left side, the mid pipe going into the collector area should not have been placed inside of the pipe/collector flange neck, but onto the outside of it. You always want the pipes with the flared ends aimed heading towards the front of the vehicle. That way, your exhaust flow is not restricted.
Do you follow what I'm saying?
It's not a big deal, but it would flow better if was done the way I'm talking about.

Only got to work on it 3 hours today, with interuptions. I think I did pretty good. I got the old one on the ground. The FLT unit arrived as I was working. I'm hoping to drive it home tomorrow. I have to swap the pan, put on my new switch and attach my 2 new wiring harnesses. The stock ones were all chewed up from numerous tranny pulls I flipped the converter upside down to drain the fluid so I could put fresh stuff in it. I guess 17 hours upside down should get most of it out.Still not sure how to attach the exhaust back up. I took the sawsall to it today
