Thay asked what I drove and once they heard supercharger they mentioned you. I think they offered me a 6 month warranty. They do good work but I figured FLT builds performance transmissions for a living. Andrews does everything and will build you a performance tranny if you ask.

Plus after talking to Chuck, hearing of his 20+ years as a GM tech doing transmissions and FLT's solid rep, I figured it was my best bet. Hopefully its on the bench being built today

Yep, you're 100% right on that. After my 3 years is up, I will be looking at FLT when and if I need another tranny. Keep us posted.

So I've got a level 5 inbound. I am going to add an aftermarket cooler in place of the stock one. (I have the GM tranny cooler for my HD transmission, LOL!) Anyway, Vince @ FLT told me to replace the GM cooler that is after the radiator with a 22,000gvw Tru Cool. He said that to run the aftermarket in series with the stock would cause too much of a pressure drop. I would like to understand why. If I were to get two aftermarket coolers and mount them side by side and in series, why would that cause a pressure drop? Its still a sealed system and I dont think the "extra" cooler would require enough extra fluid to make the pump work harder. I believe Vince, I just want to hear theories on it.....

Looks like the perfect cooler...maybe you should have bought 2!! Just in case you have the chance to pull a travel trailer up a 5% grade at 70 mph and you want to pass someone - happened to me last weekend! My 24000 B&M was none too happy about that.

Nice cooler. I didn't see any dimensions though. Glad to see that you bought a good quality one. Hope it fits.

Hoe it looks like you have most of the supplies for the swap. I think maybe you should pressure wash the bottom side of your truck before installing your new and very pretty clean unit. It looked kinda dirty in the photos you posted. Post some pic's of your new unit for others to see. Good luck with swap and I hope you got german beer. My units like green bottles!

Mine killed 6 transmissions before I went with one of FLT's 4L80Es.I think the combination of weight and a Radix setup makes for a transmission killer.Go with the vacuum modulated setup it shifts soft at low speeds.it's kind of embaressing to bark the tires at every shift not to mention having a stiff neck.

I asked Chuck about the hard shifting when I was ordering. He said to set all the tranny pressures back to stock and it should shift perfect, low speed soft, WOT firm.
The exhaust "Clamp" arrived today. It was not a clamp, it was a coupler. One half was 2 1/2" the other was more like 3". Made for a slip joint I guess. I'm not sure how I'm going to reconnect the exhaust at this point. I guess I needed this one Clamp So now I have to either order this and wait a few days or try and do something temporary. I'll just spot weld it with the Oxy torch and drive it until the clamp comes in
Hoping to tear into it tomorrow.
