Question for those with built 60Es..

We got a built 4l60e from a local builder who used alot of 80e internals and all top of the line parts for the build when we had the lt1 in the blazer. Now that we are going ls base with a nice healthy amount of nitrous we figured it should suffice as it held up to the h/c/i lt1. During the summer when we go turbo (with nitrous) we will see the limits of this transmission as we are hoping to get between 700-800 hp out of it to the tires. With the help of some slight internal parts to hold it all together. All on a street truck that sees alot of track usage

Had everything gone through on the inside. Seen it with my own eyes. My dad is the one who mentioned to me yesterday 80e. So I could be mistaken.

They came with 4L70E's. They had upgraded shafts and something else...
To the OP, the reason I went with a 60E is because I did ALL my mods at one time. I went from a completely stock 5.3 with E-fans and intake, to a cammed, tuned, 6.0 with longtubes, new exhaust, 3000 converter, built trans, and custom tune. It was already overwhelming enough. An 80E swap would have drove me insane at the time.
With that said, when the 60E blows it will probably get an 80E...

I always liked to stay with a 60 because it takes less power to turn. Now I have never had a nasty turbo setup or fi with huge power. I'm mostly a N/A and nitrous guy and have see the 60 hold very well for big na combo's.
That being said, if it was just strip duty, it would have a 400 or a powerglide. For nasty pwer on the street the 80e would be a good option. For me though, I will see what I can get out of a good built 60, if it bites the dust, I'll back up and punt.

Seen the parts myself when it was being built. Supposedly they came for a TBSS and didn't tbss come with 80e's? I am not 100% on that as I do not know what was offered in what.

Im not looking to make any big power. With the weight, height and the way I use my truck, Itll never be "fast". I doubt itll have any more power than it has now. I may just do the built 60e to KISS. I just liked the durability of the 80e and it seems like it would be cheaper to swap a stock 80e and be more reliable. I think I can count on one hand how many times Ive went WOT on 1 hand since Ive owned the truck (new in 04). I have played in the mud on occasion though
