Question on driveshaft length for 80 swap

My brother did a swap on his, I'm not sure how many inches he had to move his crossmember back but I do know he did NOT have to shorten his drive shaft. The overall trans length was very close, within an inch and all he needed was a custom yoke. Here's a pic showing the length difference

I moved my crossmember back to the next available holes, left the shaft the same length, replaced U joints and front yoke. 95 extended cab short bed

The 2wd moves back 6 1/4 inches...

you move the crossmember back 6.25 inches for a 2wd and if you have a 2 pc drive shaft you do not have to shorten it..

no driveshaft change for me. 2wd rcsb. I just changed the yoke and good to go. I would like to later have custom aluminum shaft made but thats later.
