Default question about my 80e ( yes i used the search bar)

Got the 80e in my truck which is a 02. Trans is a 0302 out of a van. Ive counted the gear selection multiple times i get PRND21. Is that normal? Will it still work. Its already in the truck with a transgo in it. Thanks everyone i couldnt find this one

Not sure what you are asking but a 80E is a 4 spd.

If your truck is an 02 you should also have the same indicator your friend has, PRND321. Sounds to me like you need to adjust your shifter cable, as none of the gear indents on the column put the trans physically into 3rd gear. There's a place under the cab on the driver's side where the cab half and the trans half meet. There is some adjustment there. I'm not sure if there is a formal adjustment process or not but if you play around with it you should be able to get it.

No. With the trans out of the truck setting on a bench i can take the gear selector with my hand and manually go threw the gears and starting in park i get Prnd21. I only feel and count five clicks

If that's true then it's not a 4L80E. What year van did it come out of?

Your gear selector (de-tent lever) in the trans is not set up correctly. I would pull the pan and check the rod. Watch it as it goes through the range. It might be binding some were.
