You are better off un-bolting the entire electronic assembly, those plugs are notorious for breaking.

Amen brother. Wish I had unbolted the unit at the shift selector on the side of the tranny. I got the two plugs out but what a PITA. They had some type of clear something (glue?) on them. Had to pry them out with a screwdriver. Had to take an exacto knife and trim this stuff off to get them to plug back up.

Should be able to reuse the gasket. I have twice. Just snug the bolts.

I am.

Just re-read your other question. Here are torque specs. I didn't torque anything. I guess the important one would be converter to flex plate torque. Good luck getting a torque wrench on them.Torque Specs

Make sure the tq converter is unbolted from the flywheel and all of the tranny bolts are removed and pull back on the transmission. You may have to get a pry bar between the transmission and engine. If it does not come out very easily I would not try to force it, most likely there is still a bolt still holding it on or something.

I had a heck of a time getting mine out. After hours of pulling, prying, banging, spraying with penetrant, etc, I finally used a sling from the tranny to the trailer hitch to put quite a bit of tension on the trans. Then I rapped around the bellhousing and after about the 8th hit, it just pulled apart. I had LOTS of embedded rust around the alignment holes and the upper half of the bellhousing. I put anti-sieze on the alignment holes to make it easier if I have to pull it again.

Good Luck.
