My transmission builder volunteered to put my 40k tru-cool on. I ordered it with the external thermal bypass, but he said I wouldn't need it down here (Louisiana).

Sorry I had to hodge podge this together, but quoting was giving problems. Billy, did u ever find out if radiator fitting is 16mm x 1.5? I might be able to contact a guy that can tell me.

While it's gonna be either 14, 16, or 18 x 1.5, which IDK. This just dawned on me, I could by 2 of each, take home & set em up against rad but not install. Return the 4 I don't use. I wonder if u need that O-ring that comes on what I found yesterday. I'm thinkin no.

Pushlock hose is avail in blue & I found some black round here too. I might go pushlock cause S/S braided can be a pain. But it looks great.

BH3 asked Krambo, threads goin into cooler 3/8 NPT? If so, would it be possible to use a 3/8 NPT to -6 AN fitting with some sealer on the threads going into the cooler?

And has anyone been able to verify what size the hard lines back to the trans are (3/8?), as well as the fitting into the radiator?

Krambo said 3/8 NPT will not thread in...he tried 3/8 NPT to -6AN fittings ...

From Krambo, "It is a 3/8 INVERTED FLARE going into the cooler (if you have the same cooler as I do...40K GVW Trucool). I had a hell of a time finding a Male 3/8 inverted flare to a male (or female) -6AN . I found one however the inverted flare end was too short. Let me know if you find one." -Krambo, did u ever find this?

Krambo used 2- 90*'s coming out of trans. charcoal-bowtie also used 2- 90*'s but said 45*'s woulda been better.
It's also a function of the min. turn radius of the given hose. Most range from 2 1/2" - 4". With ~2 1/2" being more commom.

Cody, so u never sticked AN-trans cooler setup that I know.

In checking Mon., I was told 100PSI is most tranny pressure 1 would likely see, Atomic agrees elsewhere.

venomhp, I too prefer not to cut the lines if I go that route. Maybe someone will chime in on how just to add Trucool w/. factory cooler?

I know this is long, but tried to put everything in 1 spot, sorta. If anyone knows what info isn't answered, post up please.

3/8 would be the tube size. The correct thread size would be 5/8-18, and I can verify this when I get home tonight.

I never did find out exactly what size the radiator fitting is...but I thought that someone posted it up somewhere along the line.

I'm going with the Time2Kill kit that makes the install basically plug and play if your truck came with the factory auxilary cooler kit, which, as you know, I bought from the dealer a few weeks ago

No need to call you crazy. Many people have used pipe threads even though they are truly a straight thread.
