Sweet guess all the other guys want to stick with cal-tracs little closed minded to a new product I guess. Anyway when they come out Ill run a set if they arent too expensive and comparable in price to the cal-tracs even if they are a little more expensive.

This bar looks great, sent them a message through their website, asking him to build it and put me on the list as a future customer. Will be passing along this info to a buddy of mine that has a Dakota, he will be interested that they offer one for his truck. Thanks for bringing this info to our attention.

not a problem and thanks for emailing him. i spent a few hours on the phone with him last night and he is going to build one for the gm trucks. he has one for the dakotas. right now he is trying to finish up the first gen camaro and nova platforms. then he has one other project in line before us. then it's our turn. what everyone must keep in mind is this guy is doing this on his own dime. he has to work and save up the money that it cost for cad design, laser cutting, powder coating and etc. also, he has over a grand invested in just boxes and air bags for shipping. he is taking great lengths to ensure the product arrives to you just like it left his shop. so what this means is, delays cause in building cause not everyone has unlimited resources. i inquired about a prepay to help speed the process of building them and he doesn't want to do that cause then it's a thing where you use the customers money to build something and it gets to be a hassle.

another note, he is more than likely going to become a sponsor here once he gets one built for our trucks. he has thought about selling through a vendor so they can field all the tech questions and shipping and that sort. basically he'll build them then drop them off and let someone like thunder racing deal with the rest. which if that happens you can rest assured a vender is going to make their 10 percent or what ever it is. so when this comes out the best bet is to jump on it quick.

What makes it so much better than the caltracs design? I remember chris from syty.net and he was a real stand up guy. I have not been on the site for awhile, glade to here he is going to start making the bars.

i can't answer that question about being better since this bar is not out for fullsize gm trucks yet. here are some points that i like about this bar.

The first thing i like is the fact we have another person stepping up to the plate to build something. Helps drive prices down (in theory) when there is competition.

Secondly, you don't have to remove any bushings to use these bars. if i remember correctly you have to push the bushing out in order to use caltracs then put it back in or something like that.

About an hour to install.

Tie down straps for people who do trailor a truck. (i'll be trailoring my truck to the next Southern Shootout)

and they are fully adjustable like caltracs.

hope this helps. i am sure chris can get all into it as to why his bars are better since he builds them and uses them on his truck.

the leaf spring pack, the axle pads, rear end, frame hangers. Nothing especially different, but different non-the less. Actually, if the axle pads make no difference in this setup, I may be ok because I'm switching to a 1500series leaf pack

just check your entire suspension over and compare to the 1500. if the bolt holes are in the same position and such you will probably be ok with this bar when it comes out.
