Default PI Converter: 1 v. 3 v. 5 disks

I am planning on getting a PI 3200. For now I am only making 300 hp. Truck weighs 4700 lbs. I don't tow. What will determine how many disks are best for your application or does it just make the converter stronger with more disks?

The amount of clutch plates has no effect on making the converter stronger, it only gives you more clutch area.
The structure of the internal parts is the same it is an add on item
hope that helps
the extra plates make the apply harsher more like an extra gear change (some people do not like the feel of it and you might ride in one first)

What he said. I had a PI triple (3) disc converter and hated it! Im now running a single disc TCI and love it! It all depends on what you like, Like Yank said, you need to ride in one first.
