Hey guys I have a built tranny for my 2000 chevy. The motor is a 6.0 stroked to a 408 with a cam and all the works. The tranny was built with kevlar bands, stall and shift kit. Tranny has less than 5k miles on it. The other day it was stuck in od and wouldn't shift in to reverse or any other gear. it never acted like it lost first second etc, just stuck. Now it won't grab anything...does this sound like a tranny blow or just the clutches are gone? Please advise. Also I am in the Tacoma area of washington, so if anyone has a tranny shop that they recommend it would be well appriciated. The truck was built in texas but I am in the military and had it shipped up after it was complete or I would take it back to the place that built it. All help is welcomed and thanks again

Cousin of mine has a TB that wouldn't go into park. He managed to shift down to 1st (manually), and couldn't shift back up. Had it towed to the dealership, and haven't heard any results yet. I'll call him up, and ask what they found. I'll post up the solution to his issue when I get it.

Thanks, I had this towed to the dealership, and they said they wouldn't look at it. The only thing they would do is put a new one for 2800$ in, but I told them the motor would blow that one in no time.

Check out the sponsors. That would be a waste of $2800 to spend on a stock tranny and R&R. It'll take about a month to get, but you won't have to worry about a trans again.

Are you getting any trouble codes? The reason I ask is being stuck in 4th is not a common issue. Are you sure that it was not 3rd like the trans was in limp mode? The thing that gets me is that now you said it will not catch any gears. Does that mean it will not move or stays in 4th? Please excuse me I'm confused. Vince
