P0757 code??? I think.....
#1
Just received a new ses code this afternoon!!!
The code is p0757...I think. It stated that the shift selenoid B was stuck on. How to fix and what causes it. It looks like I'm gonna get an FLT transmission now. This trans was a built trans here in Austin. Oh, it is a 4L60E just fyi......I will drive it around some more tonight and see if the code reappears. When it does, I will read the code again(and get the right one) and post it up later on. Also, the truck makes a clunk sound while idling in the driveway. Got on a creeper and pulled the viewing plug(???) on the bell housing and thats were the noise is comming from. I thought that it was the verter but I dom know that it is comming from the transmission area. The truck runs fine, it;s just the ses light comes on. The stupid misfire code P0300 is pending now. I have read that a high stall will also set this code. I have a 3800 Fuddle to. It's in my sig but just put it in the post for easy reading. The Fuddle is still making noise when it locks up so I'm probably going to get an VIG or something. There was a pole on verters....I'll try to find it later. I also did a search and found good info on the P0757 code. Has anybody a solution yet?? The threads that I have read, there are so many different prodlems and solutions. Looks like an excuse to get a new trans and not have this one rebuilt again!!!!!
I don't know what I'm going to do!!!!
Thanks fellows on any input!!!!
James

this code has set 2 times in my truck... the tran guy says that the solenoid is getting stuck interm... I have a new solenoid but havent got off my *** and put it in yet... thereis a bulletin for it but it says that trash gets caught in the passage, but if you just rebuilt yours... I doubt that is your problem

Well it sounds like you have a couple of different problems. The noise from the bell could be the tc or the flywheel. It might be a good idea to drop your trans pan and see whats floating around in there. If your tc is coming apart you are probably damaging the pump in the transmission. Also with the po757 that you are getting it might be from your high stall tc. What is happening is that your computer is not seeing the proper perimeters due to the stall flashing. This is pretty common with stalls 3200 and higher. You might want to get with your tuner and first clear the code and then have the test for that code removed. I would love to sell you a trans but I think that we should look at a couple of things first. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Vince

if you have trash floating around, thn you may have trash in your valve body. You can change a solenoid in the driveway. drop the pan, remove the clip, pull the solenoid out and reverse to install new one.... Yu may have convertor problems with a noise and clutch material everywhere

I had that code come up a week ago. I was in traffic and kept flashing the stall playing around everytime traffic would start to move pretty good. All i did was clear the code and so far it's been a week and no problem's.

P0757 sets when the PCM detects a 1-2-2-1 shift pattern. Since the PCM interprets what gear its in by the calculated ratio of input to output shaft speeds, a highstall TC can cause this to set. I've been able to set this code myself on demand with my 3200 stall and some careful manipulation of the throttle.
In a nutshell, probably the valve body is fine, but with that high stall converter, the transmission is probably shifting 1-2-3 then you open the throttle more, converter stalls, and boom PCM thinks its still in 2nd and you might do something to cause a 2-1 kickdown and the code sets. (Instant MAX line pressure, 3rd gear only.)
Phasemaster, reading what you said perfectly describes the scenerio i used to throw this code on demand. Basically playing with the converter in stop and go traffic is a instant code setter

This high of a stall and the heavy *** truck don't mix to a certain point. My trans was rebuilt about a year ago and I have put about 2,000 on it sense then(maybe less), but this verter makes or something else is making alot of trash. I can't get over the clunking sound my truck makes when it's idling. I sounds like it internal(engine) but it's louder in the bell housing area. the amount of trash in the or on the magnet, it's possible that the siliniod might be blocked. How can I replce the siliniods or is it easy......????? Can someone do this in their driveway???

Quick answers for a few of your questions.
- Solenoids are all easily accessed via the Pan. However you need to remove the whole valve body as the retaining clips are only accessed from the transmission side of the valve body.
- Clogged solenoid would not be the cause of the problem. (see below)
- Excess noise/trash from TC, that cant be good. And should be fixed before it takes the whole transmission out
Just taking a guess here, but i bet a bearing went out in the TC causing the TC Clutch to rub generating all that trash. Even if i'm completely and utterly wrong its still not good.P0757 - Type A DTC.
Conditions Needed to be Met to set DTC:
Condition 1
- PCM Commands third gear for 1 second.
- Estimated Gear ratio is 1.6-1.8
- Engine Torque ouput is 36-368Nm
- All conditions met for 2 seconds.
Condition 2
- PCM Commands 4th Gear
- Estimated gear ratio is 1.8-3.3
- Engine torque output is 0-295Nm
- All conditions met for 2 seconds.
Now focusing on the solenoids. [Both 1-2, and 2-3 Solenoid are Open when not-energized)
First gear, 1-2 Solenoid Energized, 2-3 Solenoid Energized
Second Gear, 1-2 OFF, 2-3 ON
Third Gear, 1-2 OFF, 2-3 OFF
Forth Gear, 1-2 ON, 2-3 OFF
The 2-3 solenoid is most likely NOT the cause of the issue as it is impossible for a 4L60 to even shift into first gear with a clogged 2-3 solenoid. Now if you actually didnt have 1 or 2 without the DTC set then i retract my above statement. (Note when DTC is set, 3rd gear is all you get and NO TCC operation)

You should not have to remove the vb to change the solenoids. The clips should be pointing down for all the solenoid unless a real dumb *** built it. After reading your post about the trash/clutch material that has been in the pan. It doesn't sound good. We are running a free shipping special at this time. Vince
