Ill take som epics and let everyone know how to install them the easiest way since the other guy that has one got a shop to install it. I on the other hand dont have the money to pay someone to install it for me.

i put a converter in my sonoma about a year ago.. all u have to do is take out the starter and put a ratchet on the balancer and turn it to line up with the hole.... its a pain but works....

I know how to put a tc in my truck this will be the thrid time on the 60E's they have an inspection cover that you can pop off and use a screwdriver on the the teeth of the flywheel to rotate it till the tc bolt gets where you need it in the start hole. What I am talking about is the Fuddle converters from what I have heard are not threaded like a normal converter you have to put the bolt through the flywheel the through the converter tab then put a bolt behind that to back it up unlike most converters where the tab on the converter is already threaded so you dont have to mess with that.

I'm the guy that had the shop install the converter when I had the tranny rebuilt. The Fuddle has 2 holes on each tab to accomidate the 2 different bolt patterns the flywheels have. I asked John about it and this was his answer:

"The holes aren't threaded because using grade 8 hardware holds stronger on higher power applications. Also, threading the holes would require drilling the flexplate because the holes are bigger than one of the holes on the flexplate. So going threaded would cause some problems for others.

Thanks for the heads up, though. We are working on a solution to fit both the threaded holes and the one smaller hole on the flexplate. "

Yeah I talked to John today and thats basically what he said. To install them you have to put the bolt through the flywheel and tc throught the starter hole then rotate it around to where the inspection cover is on the bottom of the bellhousing then rotate it around again to tighten it up in the starter hole. It sounds like it is going to be a bit of a PITA if it makes it stronger then Im all for it.

Sounds a lil shitty.... but all in the sake of strength, is worth it sometimes. I've definatly done worse work , and a couple extra rotations and tightening.

Look at the fastest truck post.None of thoses guys are needing the extra strength.Another option might be to use weather strip adhesive and glue the nuts in place hours before the install.Kind of like the boys of nascar with lug nuts.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Just something to hold the nuts up there til you can get em bolted in.

y not tack them with a mig.. take it to a muffler shop and have them do it..
