No, you would have to grind the 17" spindles down to clear the 16" spindles. It is actually the nut and bolt that sticks out on the bottom of the spindle. You have to grind it to keep it from rubbing the inside of your rims. However, if you grind it down to fit the 16" wheels, there wont be many treads left holding it on and it looks rather unsafe to me but i know guys that have done it.

Just get the 17"+ spindles. They are much easier to install and you will have no problem with them since your running a minimum of a 17" wheel anyways. Since your a mechanic and have the tools, im sure it will be an easy install for you as well.

And I have heard that you will need to grind the bottom ball joint stem and nut even with the 17" wheels but it doesn't really seem like that big a deal.

 

Called them and they said they dont sell directly to the public!! Gave a shop in Houston, Tx

 

They used to sell direct but seem to be selling wholesale only now. This is a fairly recent change so I am not sure if you will find retailers selling below MSRP or not. They still only list themselves online so I guess they expect you to call them for a reseller. Sorry but I am not sure who to recommend at this point. I did a google search but it is not yielding too many good hits yet. Maybe the shop they recommended is as good as any at this point.

 

Yea i did call them again called Affordable in Houston, Tx this time they qouted me 733.00 for the kit last week it was they told me 625.00

Im still doing some research looks my choices are Mcgaughys, BellTech, and DJM all are good components

I just installed my coils and leafs today at work!!!!! then I had to put the truck back in storage. But it ride fuggin awsome.

 

Never Satisfied is very well informed. From my experience you will not like drop coils, they suck, mcgaughys drop spindles,and only mcgaughys! they are the best, now with the aid of a 1 inch drop coil your truck will maintain a decent ride. These spindles require no modification to clear a 17 inch rim. and in the back i would highly recomend a notch,with any thing more than 4 inch without a notch you can not put much of any weight in the back with out resting the frame on the axle. that sucks on bumps, and a 3/4 drop does not need new shocks the factory one are ok but you will notice an improvement with some shorter stoke ones.Toxic sells a pretty good cheap set.

 

whatever you do... if you are going to put money into any drop if its a 1/3, 2/4, 3/5, 4/6, 5/7... or even bags... DONT use toxic shocks. I have ridden in too many trucks that have had blown toxics on them after about 15-20K of use. get the Doetsch Tech shocks... a little more spendy but they will ride very nice and last a long time.
