Default OBS 4wd to 2wd ???

I did do some searching and couldn't find anything.

I have a 93 RCSB 4wd 1/2ton. I want to remove all the 4wd parts and build this truck into a street/strip truck. For reasons out of my control i cannot sell this truck and just buy a 2wd. I might just install an aftermarket front suspension kit, but i want to see if this can be done first.

What kind of problems will i have if i remove all the 4wd stuff from the frontend?
Will i need to reinforce the frame with the axel removed?
Will the wheel bearings still work without the sub-shaft installed?

Slow Down Turbo!!! Its no wonder no one answered your question.

First off Yes, You can remove the the front 4x4 parts. But the front wheel bearings will need the stub part of the front axles bolted back in place.

No you don't need to reinforce the frame if you remove those parts.

WE have no idea what aftermarket front susspension your reffering too.

As far as selling the truck, well it could be an option but if your not willing to or can't affoard to replace it thats fine. No one said you had too or that it was your only option.

Now I say this with respect and trying to be helpfull. Please slow down in your post. You have atleast 2 or 3 different topics going on here and your all over the place with your thoughts and questions.

Your Tile to the thread is fine.
How ever its how you worded things in the thread . When people open it up, Thats what put them off.

When you post a question try and ask your self what you would like to accomplish?

In this case its removing the 4WD parts and makeing the truck function as 2WD.

I see 3 questions pertaining to this topic.

1.What kind of problems will i have if i remove all the 4wd stuff from the frontend?

2.Will i need to reinforce the frame with the axel removed?

3.Will the wheel bearings still work without the sub-shaft installed?

Starting with that would have been a good way to get the answers you were looking for. Or if you had a question about swaping front suspension you could start a thread about what you have and what your trying to accomplish with what ever stuff you were looking at.

Any way hope you got the answers you were looking for and I hope this helps you get your questions answerd in the future.

Good Luck with your build!!!
