Default NV3500 rebuild?

So, in trying to figure the bottom line of rebuilding the tranny that's in my truck now or swapping to a T56, does anyone if the NV3500's are rebuildable?

I have some emails into some shops but haven't heard back, so I didn't know if any of y'all knew.

A quick google search yielded the same answer as you, zebra. I just don't want to have to pay for a rebuild kit and then labor out the *** just to have a truck 5-spd still in the truck if it's gonna be close to the same amount of money as a 6-spd. But money talks at this point until I start the paychecks rolling from the new job I start in a week.

if you're 4wd or have to use your center seat, you can pretty much forget the t56. the shift tower comes up about a foot behind the stock hole (right under the front of the seat) and you'll have to custom-fab a tailhousing to make a t-case work

if you're just 2wd, go ahead with it! just don't forget your rear diff... you don't have to regear, but it's recommended
