Default Newbie, lowering questions

Been trolling for awhile and finally signed up, cool site. I'm completely new to the lowering community and have some newbie questions. I've got a 09 Silverado LTZ 4x4 crew cab and I'm wanting to install a 3/5 drop kit. Everyone who I mention my plans to says I'm a idiot for wanting to lower a 4x4, but there's maybe only 2 lowered silverado's in my area and I like being different. My truck never see's any off-roading, maybe some snow but thats it, I usually don't even drive it in the rain. I'm running 20x9 0 offset wheels with 285/50 tires. Can I expect any rubbing with this combo and drop? I've got my eye's on the McGaughys 34070 kit. www.suspensionsuperstore.com/2007-2013-chevy-silverado-1500-quad-cab-3-5-4-6-5-7-adjustable-drop-kit-mcgaughys-34070/
This was the only complete kit I could find with the 3/5 drop. Is this kit any good or should I piece one together. I've got around 6-700 to spend, not wanting to do a c-notch, this is a very clean low miles truck and I don't wanna cut it up.

DJM front 3" lowering control arms, and a flip kit with a 1" lift shackle out back, and maybe some helper bags. With a 5" drop in the rear youre prone to bottoming out. Telling you from experience, my old SS had a 4/5 drop, and it would hit once every so often, or when i had passengers. Helper bags are the best bet if you dont wanna notch.

A NNBS truck will do a 7-8in rear drop without a c-notch, at 5in rear you will still have a good amount of room between the frame and axle. helper bags for sure if you tow or haul with it.

You will have to chop off the factory bump stop mounts that are welded to the frame of the truck. A 5in rear drop on a flip kit will be touching the bump stops against the axle.

Just realized he had an NNBS.. sorry about that.
I would recommend a notch on a 7" drop on an nnbs, no questions asked, the slightest load you put on it and youll bottom out.

Honestly with a 3/5 youll be fine, but i dont think youll notice much drop.. For the front id do adjustable shocks, and 2" drop spindles. The rear, id do hangers, i dont think you can get 5" with a flip kit.

Ive got my Denali sitting about 5/6 with bags in the back, and i keep those up most of the time unless im going to a show

It may be a stretch for your budget, but I make and sell parts to do a coilover conversion for the front of these trucks and am a dealer for Viking shocks so I can get you set up with everything you need. You can get your drop no problem and retain a very nice ride quality and have the adjustability there to tune it to however you want it to ride. Total cost for the front you are looking at around $800 going this route.
