Very cool. I can see the attraction to staying 60 series transmission for sure.

I am still happy having gone 80e. Despite the longer first gear I can cut mid 1.5x 60's with wheel spin. That being said, without the torque I make off the line I don't think I would be singing the same tune.

GM website only offers 2wd versions for just over 3K. I would hope they would also offer a 4x4 option.

I'm thinking PD blowers don't really need it but everything else I bet would benefit. Looks pretty darn tough and the fitment helps as well. Love that there is another option finally!

If the dont offer a 4x4 version would it be possible to swap the output shaft and not void the warranty?

Do they have a parts list anywhere? And what years is it going to be bolt in compatible with?

MrHorsepowerLSx 11-01-2016 07:28 PM

That trans has some quicks in the video from the first post. Sounds like it will help ease the minds of many.

Choda 11-01-2016 08:53 PM

hmmmm sounds like my level 5 already has this stuff

For those who want a bolt-in solution for their 4L60 woes, the 4L75-E is GM’s answer, rated for 650 lb-ft of torque! This is an upgrade over the later 4L70-E transmissions, featuring 155 lb-ft more torque capacity.

Chevrolet Performance did this by upgrading the planetary gears with 5-pinion gearsets over the previous four, reinforcing the input drum, adding a higher-capacity servo, a more robust 3-4 clutch and a larger, stronger 2-4 band.

I just had 60E redone earlier this summer for my Jimmy and same thing.... failing to see what they did that mine doesn't already have. Be nice to see a real parts list as to what they changed..... I mean the 65E had 5 pinion planetaries so whooptee doo lol.
