I have used strange gears before and never had a problem, they setup good, and don't make noise. On the other hand don't get yukon gears, I set them up perfect and still was the loudest set of gears ive ever heard. Just my .02

thanks for the info. from my understanding yukon gears are for 4X4 applications, thats probably why they are loud. not meant to go fast.

can you guys update me on how to properly break new gears in?
how many heat cycles?
what speed should you limit your driving at, and for how long?
where is a good place to purchase this gear set?

well i called and ordered my 4.56 gears yesterday and come to find out they had a package deal, which IMO was a pretty good deal. for roughly $460 i got strange 4.56 gear and pinion, a rahtech complete install kit, a ta girdle cover, the stud kit for the girdle, 2 quarts of synthetic gear oil and additive and tax and shipping. i priced everything out seperatly and it came up over $550. so i saved pretty much $100 on the rear end setup.

I like the OEM gears myself but it sounds like you got that part all wrapped up. For break in it was recommended (IIRC) that I keep the speed under 50mph with at least 3 heat cycles for 50 miles then under 60 for a whole boat-load more heat cycles to 500 miles, change the gear oil and go.

I hate break-ins!
