Default Need Lower

Well I guess its finally time to figure it out. I want the truck lower. I have the 2/4 with spindles on the front and shackles/hangars on the back. I would prefer to not notch the frame if at all possible. I also would prefer to not have to change out my hangars cuz that was a bitch and a half. So the helper spring comes to mind, I definitely will take that out, how could I get another inch outta my rear end? Im thinking when I get the courage Ill order 2in springs and keep a little bit of a rake maybe. Options? Opinions? Thanks guys appreciate it

some guys have used spring clamps on the leaf springs for traction purposes and would get a 1/2" to an 1" extra drop.
you are more than likely going to need to notch the frame.
i bottom out and i have a 4" drop on the back.

dam. I've bottomed out maybe twice, once haulin *** and once pulling in to my buddies steep as driveway. But yeah I've realized I will more than likely need to notch but would like to not have to if possible. Fill me in on where to get a spring clamp and how to put it on. Thanks

i think some said they bought them from autozone.
can't remember how much they cost.
and i believe the go behind the axle.

i'm in the same boat as you.
i want to go lower.
but i already have my notch on order.
then i'll gradually start buying the rest of the components to finish up the drop.

maybe you could buy some 4" drop leafs and a set of 1" lift shackles.
combine that w/ your 2" drop hangers and you should have 5" drop in the rear.

hmm, thats a good thought, or maybe even just 2 in leafs right now. (or is it leaves? does the same grammar apply to this?? haha) anyway, I think I may go with springs clamps, seems easier and less hassle. Ill figure it out. I gotta try not to overload myself with my bike Im trying to pay off and insurance to go with it. Ill get it thanks for the help man I appreciate it

you're going to find out real quick that a 5" drop isn't much fun. Don't cheap out and skip out on the notch. It's not a big deal at all. It takes maybe 2 hours to do and once it's done, you'll never have to think about it again.

true. the ones I saw when I was getting parts for my 2/4 were like $200. right now I cant afford that as weak as that sounds. I dont drive my truck much and its starting to make me sad, haha.
I think for now tho when I get around to it Ill take the truck up to my dad's shop and pop out the helpers and see how I like it then worry about the front coils. I have time and options so Ill take it easy for now.
Thanks for the input guys
