Default my 97 suburban lost reverse! HELP! PLEASE!

hey guys i got a problem, so i was backing up a while ago and i all of a sudden heard a big crack, then my reverse stopped working. it will still go forward, but it also now does not want to shift until you let off the gas pedal. what would something like this cost to fix? would i need to put a whole new transmission in it? ...also, how much would it usually go for if i just sold it like it is? 4x4 black, 172k miles. Thanks guys!

you broke your reaction sunshell!!!! its not really that big of a deal to fix, depends on mileage and how well you have maintained it, to whether i would replace it or fix it
