My 4L60e exploded...

I lost all gears even reverse and neutral on my way home tonight. It started when it shifted into 2ed and then the transmission made some horrific noises with a bad vibration in the whole drive train. I drove it for about two miles in third gear then everything just locked up, I can't even put my truck into neutral and push it. I checked the rear end just to make sure it was not that, the whole gear train in my trans just exploded. Sorry for the long post I really just wanted to vent and share my experince on what happen to me tonight.

That fuggin sucks, will warranty cover it you think?

Wow that does suck. Hopefully your rear end and other components are still ok.

I don't think it will be covered by warrenty because I have almost 60,000 miles on it, and I don't have the extended warrenty. I'm pretty sure that my very hard 1-2 shift is what blew up my trans, I never did get a good tune after I installed the shift kit and servro :bang:. I think I'm going to give FLT a call in the morning and see about a Level 4. :D

The same exact thing happened to me... except there wasn't any noise stopped at a light and it wouldn't move... still don't know what caused it though... I'm thinking it was due to a nelson tune though it was running perfectly fine until I put the updated tune in... I'm thinking they bumped the line pressure on it...
