Default Might Fab Up Some Spring Clamps?

I cant really find any spring clamps that look strong. So im thinking about making some with Metal i can get my hands on. How wide are the Leaf Springs on Half Tons Silverados?

Goin to use some 3/8 or 1/4" flat bar or something like that? With either 2 or 4 Grade 8 bolts.

What yall think?

Plus I like fabbing up stuff like that. But sittin here in a hotel i cant get my hands on a tape measure or tools. So i get to ask you guys.

I got some u-bolts from Napa and made my own strap out of some scrap metal. Works perfect...
