Now that you're here, I'm hoping you can shed some light/experience on which suspension choice offers

• Best Ride - Quality
• Least Alignment Issues

I'm looking to lower my NSB RCSB Silverado 2/4 and not sure on which to use. I did an Escalade with spindles and it rode well enough BUT whe nit had a flat tire one day ... I couldn't fit the spare on it. Truck had 22" rims that fit fine but the 18" spare didn't clear (needed a 20").
I've lowered a multitude of cars with lowering springs and some were better than others (in terms of ride quality).
Looking at either the McGauhy's or BellTechs and any info would be appreciated.

Ride quality does not change with the drop spindle. You should not have an issue with a spare fitting on the Belltech spindle if it is 17" or larger. Springs do change the ride quality. As for if it is good or bad is a matter of opinion.

For the NBS (99-06) truck I would recommend a spindle with shackle/hanger kit.

 

Not sure on the Belltech but on the McGaughrys spindle you have to cut the threads off the bottom of the spindles to fit the spare. I have a 17" spare and it fits find. And the above statement is true about the springs. Good luck

Just remember to cut the bolt on the bottom of the spindle once you have it installed.

Coils will require an alignment where as spindles wont, for the most part.
It is recommended to get an alignment though regardless.
With coils, you might like how one rides but cant stand how another one rides. Unless you don't mind swapping coils to find the right ride for you, spindles are the way to go.
Check around on the forums to see which spindles will fit without mods. I know in my OBS Bell Tech spindles widened my track width roughly and inch and you also had to modify the lower control arms for clearance with the McGaughys spindles you did not.
Not sure if its the same with NNBS but, its worth a looksy

 

I'm going to get McGaughys 34070-6 adjustable kit.
Performance adjustable drop struts which allows you to choose any drop in increments of just 1/2" ... Adjust the front from 3" to 5" or anywhere in between and drops the rear from 4" to 7".
I'm probably never going lower than 3/5 but since all I want for now is 2/4, I like the fact I can got to 3/5 later without much fuss .
I'm also going to add rear air bag kit. I figure for only a few hundred more, why not.

 

Compare that kit to the Belltech kit before purchasing. You will notice the Belltech kit will do the same thing but it does come with added items you will need like the alignment kit.

 

Good thread Alex I was wondering the same thing now I know to keep my spindles on and worry about swapping out for springs.
