Default lowered truck question.

are any of you lowered guys running shock extenders? and how did it change the ride/setup? with extenders would it use stock length shocks?

im thinking about getting some mcgaughy's drop spindles and go back to a stock spring in the front, but in the rear of the truck im thinking about c-notching for axle travel clearance and then boxing the section for strength.

The shock extenders are supposed to improve the ride quality by allowing you to run stock length shocks, depending on how far the truck is lowered. I know from reading this forum that they definitely help, but I don't have first hand experience with them myself.

I have a 2/4 drop, and don't want to go any lower. But I want a little better ride.

I think that the extenders will work well for you then, and I'm pretty sure that you'll be able to run stock length shocks.

She rides pretty good right now, I'm just tired of hitting the bump stops. So, I was thinking if I go with what I said before, the suspension would have more travel.

If you're hitting the bumpstops it will continue to do so, the ride will just be dampened better...that gap between the axle and frame isn't going to change...

In the front the drop spring have me on the bump stops and that is why I'm looking to go to drop spindles. And in the rear I plan to notch the frame and box it.

Sounds good, I think you'll be happy with the shock extenders
