Default lower control arms questions

will 2wd lower control arms fit/work in place of 4wd lower arms? are they stamped steel or cast like the 4wd arms? also, will hd lower arms bolt in place of the 1500 4wd arms?

i want to try going to coil overs and get rid of the torsen bars. i see the d-max guys have done it WITH their 4wd INPLACE. so i figured i can too. but i would like to strengthen the lca shock mounting point. i figured if the steel type lowers would bolt in i could weld up what i need vise just bolting on a bracket to the cast.

yes, i understand that the shock location is different with the 2wd arms. but again if they are steel, i can put the mount where i want/need.

discuss.....

Sorry, I don't have any answers for you but would like some information on the DMax guys running coilovers. Do you have any links to this information? I have a 2005 2500HD lowered and would like to ditch the torsion bars.
