I would be glad to help....you can send me an Ask Chris or call me at the shop. But so far sounds like our 278mm might be a good choice. But that is a fairly aggressive cam for a 5.3. So you might have a dead spot down low. Really just depends on what you want out of the truck.

Sounds like a cam and stall would be your best changes to make it more streetable.

I just ordered the cam, comp cams big muthr thumpr cam. Sounds like a 278mm will be a nice stall change.

Is this cam really that big for a 5.3? haha

yes it really is that big. Its gonna make all its power up top for the most part.

I dd with a circle d 3200 stall and it does great. I'm lookin to go bigger if u want to do a swap.

Yes, that cam is HUGE in a 5.3. It will love the 4200 you have in there now. If you want something streetable and also fairly beastly at the track I would have done a low 220's duration at the most with a circle d 3200 at the tightest. The TB i6 cobverter is about a 2600, and thats not a huge improvement over stock. Some people have said that a 3000 converter isnt even enough for their TR220's in a 5.3

Is there a custom grind that you guys would do or another cam you guys would recommend? I love the sound/idle and powerband of the pro comp cam.
