On the way back to work from lunch today my trans overheating light came on in the info center...........then the converter wouldnt lock up. I pulled over, and let her cool down for a minute, and checked the fluid. It was clean, and full. After letting it cool, I drove back to work, still with the converter not locking, and the overheating light on. Now.....This trans is a three month old GM replacement with a transgo shift kit, corvette servo, billit acumullator pistons, and a yank 4000. I tuned the converter to lock at 35 just cruising and 105 full throttle with my HPT. Also sometimes it wont down shift on its own. Its been working great untill today. Any Ideas??

How long have you driven with the modified tune (assuming as long as the replacement trans has been in)?
Have you logged any DTCs, and stored logs showing what the trans is doing? If so, post 'em up.

I've driven it since march. I'm at work right now, but I'm going to hook the laptop up in a few and see what it says. I just checked the trans fluid and it DOES look like water, and is a little dirty with some metalic in it.

Well, metallic is not good. If it was just dark sediment-like material, you'll find that at the bottom of the pan (usually). That's likely to be 3-4 clutch material. Who modified this replacement transmission? The reason I ask is b/c I don't know of any GM service location that will modify anything outside of stock parts & specs?

I installed the parts as I have many 4l60/65/80 trans. The dealer installed the trans under warranty, and I installed them when I did the converter.
