locking 80e multi disc converter wot?

Interested in this as well, I'll be honest I'm scared to lock mine WOT in third... I've done it at 50% throttle with little to no boost it it just hits hard, very hard... Full boost and 6k+ rpms just seems like a bad idea. I have a circle d triple and a billet input shaft on a 80e...

Smokeshow, you were able to lock yours in the dyno, correct? Maybe the load of locking it real world on the street with big power and heavy load is too much, idk. I was in 4wd, so I know it didn't spin the tires like it does in 2wd at the speed. I'm going to put my truck on the rollers tonight, hoping I can lock it fir that at least.

Yeah I was able to lock it on the dyno. After the dyno though I put my misfire tables back to where they were before, slightly desensitized, whereas on the dyno I had them maxed out. That could be the reason...not sure. Might try messing with it again today.

Shitty! Don't even start the truck now, just pull the converter out. The TCC fried in my Yank and put clutch material into the bearings and locked them up. Then the bearings shredded and took out the trans...so don't risk it.
